THE JOURNEY

Art was part of TOASTERBLIX’s life long before tattooing became a career. Early influences included his Uncle Tony’s ballpoint-pen lettering and drawings, his grandparents’ arts-and-crafts work, and old-school lowrider art.

Over time, tattooing developed from an artistic outlet into a profession, eventually leading to the opening of Tattoo Asylum in Banning, California in 2021.

His career also required rebuilding. After suffering a stroke, returning to tattooing meant working his way back into the craft and continuing the career he had spent years building. That experience became another chapter in a career defined by persistence, growth, and continuing to create.
